The Interreligious Match for Peace is an initiative by Scholas Ocurrentes, inspired by Pope Francis, which gathered star football players, Diego Armando Maradona among them, and coaches from different cultures and religions, to participate in a transcendant event with the goal of promoting world peace. The event was organized by catholic ex football player Javier “Pupi” Zanetti, captain of the Argentinian Team and Milan, Italy’s Inter and was attended by around 50 international stars with christian, jewish, muslim, hindu and buddhist rerpesentation.
